Akrus at the World Health Expo Dubai 2026
16. February 2026Impulses for age-appropriate medical devices
Together with Fraunhofer IMTE, we from Akrus were guests at the creative workshop of the GRANNI Community. The workshop is part of the co-creative workshops of GRANNI and serves to network partners, join the open community and develop new ideas together.
The focus was on exciting project ideas relating to age-appropriate medical devices and medical technology solutions that support healthy and resilient ageing. GRANNI pursues the goal of developing socio-technical solutions for the challenges of an ageing society in an open community approach – with a view to the shortage of skilled workers and increasing care requirements, among other things.
The intensive exchange with the other participants was particularly valuable for us: Different perspectives from research, practice and industry came together in a short space of time. It is precisely this interdisciplinary collaboration that is a core principle of the GRANNI Community – because solutions should not only be developed in the laboratory, but should also be transferred to application and care as quickly as possible.
For Akrus, the visit is an important step towards working more closely with Fraunhofer IMTE on innovation and transfer-oriented projects in the future. GRANNI relies on collaborative formats and structured idea generation for this: The workshop ideas are then used to develop project proposals that can apply for community funding.
We are taking a lot of inspiration from the creative workshop – both for new product approaches and for the further development of our cooperation project with Fraunhofer IMTE. Our aim is to jointly develop solutions that improve everyday life, treatment and care – and that are practical, sustainable and close to the actual workflows in the clinical environment.
